Move-In

Moving into on-campus housing will occur during designated time slots on designated days, and incoming students must sign up in advance. Students will receive a detailed email with instructions about move-in several days prior to their arrival, including information on who to contact if there are unexpected delays.

Sign-up for an arrival time slot

Incoming students who will be living on campus for the Fall 2026 semester must sign up for a move-in time. The deadline to sign up for an arrival time is July 1. For questions about sign-ups, please contact res.life@reed.edu.

Returning students do not need to sign up for a move-in time. Residence Life will send emails in early August with information about key pick up and location, storage access, etc.

Early arrivals will not be permitted. If unavoidable circumstances prevent you from arriving before 3 p.m. on your designated move-in day, please email res.life@reed.edu to learn more about your options.

How to Prepare for Move-In

Submit your vaccination records: Students are required to upload a copy of their MMR (measles/mumps/rubella) immunizations via the . Instructions for uploading immunizations to your Student Health Portal can be found on . Early submissions are strongly encouraged to help streamline the arrival process.

Submit Your Picture: for your Reed ID card. Early submissions are strongly encouraged to help streamline the check-in process.

Shipping items in advance: Students can mail packages to the Reed mailroom two weeks before their move-in date. More information can be found here.

Timing for arrival: We know you are eager to start your move-in process, but for the safety of our community and the staff working at check-in, students and families will not be allowed to check in before their assigned move-in time. If you arrive before your move-in time, you will be asked to wait. Help us avoid congestion on campus by staying off campus until your assigned check-in time.
