We know affordability is a central question. That’s why Reed's Early Decision Aid Review lets you see an estimated aid package before committing to Early Decision.
In every admission round, Reed’s commitment is the same: we meet 100% of demonstrated financial need. And with the Reed Promise, families earning less than $100,000 receive free tuition or more. With Reed’s new Early Decision Aid Review,* you and your family can receive an estimated need-based financial aid package before committing to Early Decision—giving you clarity and confidence as you take this important step.
*EDAR is currently available to U.S. citizens only.
How It Works
Reed offers two opportunities to receive an estimate of your financial aid before deciding whether to apply Early Decision.
Early Decision I
Submit the following materials by November 10 · Receive your estimate by November 15
-
Request a review. Submit the (EDAR) form.
-
Apply to Reed. Submit your Reed application for 2027 through the Common Application or the Coalition Application.
-
Submit financial aid documents. Complete the CSS Profile and IDOC requirements.
If you meet all deadlines, you’ll receive your financial aid estimate by November 15.
Early Decision II
Submit by January 8 · Receive your estimate by January 15
Complete the same three steps above by January 8 to receive your financial aid estimate by January 15.
Decide with confidence
Once you receive your estimate, you can decide whether to switch your application to Early Decision or keep your Early Action or Regular Decision plan, with a clearer understanding of the financial support you can expect from Reed.
Each year, about 95% of admitted ED students affirm their agreement and enroll at Reed, confident in both their choice and their aid.
